Bigay Puso sa Pasko celebrates its 12th year this upcoming Christmas and goes to Iligan City and the neighborhood of Poblacion, Makati for the first time
Last Christmas, we brought our Bigay Puso sa Pasko event to beautiful Mindanao for the first time in Bigay Puso history, with 500 kids participating in our communities in Payatas, Quezon City (December 18, 2021), the remote mountain area of Sitio Culasisi in Antipolo, Rizal (December 19, 2021), and our latest community of Indigenous Peoples in Sitio Kibulacan in Malita, Davao Occidental (December 29, 2021).
The tradition continues this year, which marks the 12th year of Bigay Puso sa Pasko, our annual Christmas outreach program for children in the Philippines.
With the approach of this upcoming Pasko season, we take time to celebrate and express gratitude for COMMUNITY - the students, parents, teachers, volunteers, and supporters from around the world that comprise our Bigay Puso community and contribute in helping us to achieve our mission together.
Bigay Puso sa Pasko 2022 will be held again in our communities in Payatas, Quezon City (Lupang Pangako Elementary School) and Sitio Culasisi, Antipolo (Mountain View Free Learning Center), with the addition of two new communities - Iligan City in Mindanao (Kabangahan 1 Elementary School) and the Poblacion neighborhood of Makati City (Annex House).

Background
Bigay Puso sa Pasko (Give Your Heart on Christmas) is an annual Christmas outreach program for children in underserved communities in the Philippines. The project was founded by teacher Shirley E. Alambra in 2011 at Lupang Pangako Elementary School in Payatas after she saw that her students had no food or gifts at their previous Christmas parties, some eating sardines as their only holiday meal. Built on a former landfill, Payatas is a predominantly urban poor barangay in the northeastern district of Quezon City and remains one of the most impoverished areas in Metro Manila.
With the help of sponsors, she provided 100 students with meals from Jollibee, groceries, and toys at the first Bigay Puso sa Pasko event, complete with a special appearance by Jollibee. The event became an annual tradition and has grown to include nearly 3,000 participants since it began in 2011.
